I love the style of that. I wonder how they did that sketchy look... custom shaders?

On another note, its a great example of an animated film without any big "animation" stuff in it. You could have done it in live action, but it would've been a totally different film, and not nearly as successful.

I agree- the choice of animation is a value add one. It has a charm due to the distance that animation affords- the abstraction lets the viewer fill in those valuable spaces.

I love the way that they captured innocence, beauty, and emotion with minimal detail. It shows that simple animation, composition and color and portray a lot!

I watched this with no sound (in a costa coffee) and it is a great silent movie (I still don't know if it actually has sound).

That was really great. Love the cell shaded look. They did a great job communicating the story through faceless characters.
