'Kung Fu Panda' Exclusive Video: Opening Dream Sequence
'Kung Fu Panda' Exclusive Video: Opening Dream Sequence

I went to see KFP because I'd heard the buzz was really good. But I confess that was also a little wary. I don't think it's unfair to say that Dreamworks has had a uneven track record with their films (hey- it's not a knock. This stuff is hard to do and only the preternaturally lucky are able to whack it out of the park every single time.) Yet I also know they have made some films that are fun to watch, too. I just never know which it'll be, that's all. But folks were saying KFP was a far superior effort so I decided to take a look. I was unprepared for what followed. Trepidation was my traveling companion as I entered the cineplex that fateful night, yet after this opening trepidation was nowhere to be found. The cool part is that the rest of the movie didn't drop the ball after this- it just ran with it.

Kung Fu Panda is currently wrestling with The Incredibles for #1 spot on my CG animated films list. I don't know if it'll win that title, but it's putting up a good fight. Yeah, it's that good.

Woo hoo! I'm glad you got to see this. The style was so full of "awesomeness" and there was plenty of clever stuff to go along. The action sequences were full of the right motion and kept it moving quite nicely. Not to mention pretty funny too.

Btw, nice look on your blog. Much betta man.

thanks for the kind words on the facelift here. I'm still working through some email kinks with the server switch, but I'm sure we'll have that sussed out in no time.

I was fortunate enough to attend the "preshowing" with the directors at Universal Hollywood and we all asked them about the previews of the movie and the commercials. They seemed a bit embarrassed by the commercials since they don't really represent the movie for what it is.

Definitely on my top ten list of CG animations!

Hey Keith. I couldn't agree more. When I told a friend that I may of enjoyed KFP more than Ratatouille. Well, he thought that I was insane.

I enjoyed it a lot. Yeah, the storyline is simple and you knew what was coming, but it was just so fun to watch. The fight choreography was a bonus too.

Unfortunately, I'm a little sad to think that these great characters will be driven into the ground with sequels.

Wow I'm surprised this movie is getting the great reviews it is. I'm seeing Wall-e today of course =) but I will now make a point to see Kung Fu Panda before it leaves the theaters!!!
