Good ol' Tommy boy made a lot of sense....

Too bad we stopped paying attention to him oh, about 100 years ago now.
A quote that speaks to today's world.
"The central bank is an institution of the most deadly hostility existing against the Principles and form of our Constitution.... If the American people allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the People of all their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered."
There was one other trivial scrap of paper this fellow once authored. The Declaration of Independence.
More interesting thoughts from the third president of the United States can be found here...

Word up, Keith. Also check into Andrew Jackson's farewell address. He's one of the people who got us off a central bank system once before, and he has some excellent wisdom in that speech...

Thanks for posting.

Keith,
I live close to Williamsburg (where the Declaration was drafted etc). Watching the re-enactments is actually a bit eerie for people who are paying attention to current events. We've nearly come all the way back to where we started in some respects while going down the roads both Jefferson and Washington spoke of in banking and partisanship.

I guess this is where animators get the fuel for their more ...cynical work...

It's a timely quote, and worth thinking about.
Unfortunately, Jefferson never said it.

You should definitely check out the John Adams series from HBO. My wife and I have been watching it on Netflix and wow...does it have some scary similarities to current events. History is doomed to repeat itself as they say.
